GPS help ? Broken ?

Hi all,

I have a MAGELLEN MAP 330 GPS, it has worked great over the last few years, I mostly just do tinkering with the thing.

So today, I make a mark, and GO TO, it WAS within a foot or 2, until today ! Now it won't get within 150 feet at best. Speed and everything has worked great. Now it just loses everything....it goes back and forth between reading hook-ups (satellites) and disconnects ????


It's nav screen shows it trying to linking to satillites, it will for a few seconds and then they disconnect ?? I tried open areas, nope, different batteries, nope.....So for the most part...it won't link up and stay (if thats the right words)

Could it be junk ? I bought the thing in 2000, (vintage I know ) any advise....

It's a hunch, based on some old units we had.. is it stored near any Comm units?

Or airforce one is flying over. They create a GPS bubble void.

Might look up in the net, for REBOOT set to factory default settings. Like Press on & Mark same time.. ( not sure)

Could be just toast, & you have a new paper weight.

"Comm" units ? I don't think so......it was on a shelf (1 year plus) with some other stuff....binos, hand held VHF, clips, gloves,......

I did the reset thing,,,,and nope.....thanks for your help, I'm not the best at stuff like this

hmmm.. do not know that unit well enough. If yea done the reboot.. and still no sat lock.. guessing it might be toast.

one more thing.. leave batt out for a few hours.. then try it again... its a idea / long shot.

hope someone on the Net has same unit or issues. can help further.

Thanks alot for your help, I think it is going to be toast.......in 2005 ? the screen went black after "marking" a downed animal.....

I did not need the GPS, just did it cuz it was in my pack.
