Help on hunt 265M please

This is a muzzle loader elk tag that contains the east side of Murderers Creek and west side of Beulah units! Ive been in there once a few years back to a small area of it but need any info that can be given about where to scout please! Thanks!

Good luck on your hunt.
Highway 395 splits the murderers creek unit. If you take this road from John Day until you find county road 24, you will be on the West side of your unit. There was a big burn in this area several years ago. You will have to do some scouting around, but there is elk in the burn area almost all the time.
I have not hunted a muzzleloader season there, but I have taken 4 bulls over the years from that area.
Best thing to start with is a topo map and find water/juniper draws along ridges.
