Default Humpback made the day....

Saturday we set out from Florence for any and all finned critters aboard the Crit'r Git'r. Her valiant crew braved calm seas in search of white gold and silver fishes ....

Dr. Hanapa'a Time was conducting class and the students learned well, harvesting some of the white gold

and a newbie's first TUNA fix.... (he's ruined now !)

The most exciting part of the 30mph run in was coming across a Humpback cow and calf feeding on herring. We shut the motor off and were thrilled to watch them do the bubble net thing and crash the herring from below, mouths agape. we could hear them talking to each other - their whale talk resonated on the aluminum hull - very cool.

A real neat way to end a very good day on the blue.

And thanks to Fishwhenican for pointing us towards the TUNER(s) - too bad the Orcas ruined the show for ya.

Love it ... killer post. Wish there was some way to hear dolphin and whale chatter.

Yeah Brian it would have. She did that several times and was hard to catch with a still camera Amazing animals, mouth wide open, close, pause and sink back to the ocean, we could hear the water rushing each time she did that
