Steelhead and Cuts
After spending about four years away from the salt on the east coast, I got the opportunity to fish for stripers in Deleware last week. I went home to go to my brother's wedding and see my family in Maryland and decided to take the 7wgt. along to fish a coastal jetty. It turned out to be a good decision with four fish landed on the fly last Monday night after dark. Didn't get into any really big fish......biggest was probably about 20", but it was alot of fun to get into stripers again on the fly.
After flying back to Oregon I fished the Trask on Saturday with a new foam waker that I have been experimenting with lately for steelhead. Didn't get any steelhead but did pick up some really nice cuts up to about 16" on the waker. Can't wait to get a steelhead on the surface this year!
