UDPDATE 6/29. I have accepted an offer and believe I will have cash next week, so not a absolutely 100% done deal, I believe this unit is sold.
1980 Mobile Traveler 18.5 ft on a GMC chassis. Strong GMC 350 with 51K original miles. Good tries and brakes.
Unit is old, has some dings and blemishes but is mechanically sound and everything works. It is not as nice as it looks in the pictures.
It has a large upper bunk above driver that I use for rod and coat storage. I sleep in the dinette at the rear, table has not been set up for probably 6+ years. Has upper bunk in the rear, I use it mostly for storage. but can sleep 6 adults if your all close friends.
Has Forced air gas furnace, double sink, 3 burner stove with oven, full bathroom with toilet, sink and shower (kinda cramped, but fuctional) small fridge with small freezer, single door, works on gas, 12v & 110v, roof AC, cruse, stereo with front and rear speakers, dash AC, roof storage, 2 in receiver hitch. I usually get about 13- 15 mpg going to the coast. Used it 2 weeks ago for 3 nights dry camping in Newport maina halibut fishing. Fully self contained and works with or without hookups. Fresh water, grey and balck water tanks. 2 batteries, one engine and one house. Biggest issue are the curtains, they are on their last leg and getting thread bare.
Great for one or two people. I used it for years with my wife and 2 kids and worked fine, kinda cramped in the AM, but thats just makes memories. Also have slept 3 adults on a few fishing trips.
This has been my home for spring, summer and 2 months in the fall when I am fishing. I would not think twice about loading it up and driving to Mantana, Texas or Astoria. Everything works fine.
Enough power to tow a mid size boat. The RV has not been used to tow often, however I have pulled a 21 ft Alumaweld Formula Vee 2 times and a smaller sled a dozen or so times.
OK, the bad stuff.
1. This RV is 27 yrs old and in some areas it looks it. I am more concerned with engine oil , tire pressure and transmission filters than I am about cleaning the carpet and dusting.
2. The stove top is very rusty and is not all that pretty, works great, but kinda like me, not so great to look at.
3. There has been a leak in the past, no leaks now, but the head liner stick on material has some issues is a couple places and the carpet head liner on the front upper bunk looks funky for a few feet where it got wet in the past. I re-sealed the roof last year, but the re-seal the time before this last one was a year too late and got a few leaks when it was in Tillamook. Stored under cover in the winter when not being used.
4 The curtains are pretty much shot, work, but old and getting threadbare.
5. The bathroom door will not open all the way, opens 2/3 and then rubs on the roof mounted AC unit. Plenty of room to get in and out but just one more imperfection.
6. The metal flap that covers the fridge controls had a broken hindge and is not on. Have to bend down to see that it's missing.
7. The cushions are original, some seams giving out and the foam rubber is old.
8. The carpet is dirty, single guy using it most of the time, has plastic runner over most of it and I do sweep it out a few times a year, but carpet coupld use a cleaning.
$3000, prefer cash but I might be willing to take some payments for the right buyer.
