Default An Early River Moss Problem?

Due to the lower warmer water and sunshining on it a lot this year, I've noticed a lot of early moss starting a few weeks ago in most watersheds. It was very heavy during the Willamette/O.C. Dream Casters kids event on Saturday, requiring bringing in the rigs to clean them off almost as often as fishing in lower Tillamook Bay. Other than longer knot tags and extra in-line beads, what ideas do you guys have to help keep moss off the business end of your rigs this late spring and into the summer? Thanks. - RT

A swivel 30-36 inches up from your plug works pretty well.

There aint one! You can tie all the rubber bands and swivels you want on your line but it aint gonna help. Been there tried that. Moss was in the Willamette (above the falls) in early April. The Moss does not slide down the line to your lure if your using a dropper and three way swivel. The stuff is long and it tumbles in the water. Sometimes there is nothing on the line and then there is a big glob on your lure. How it does that I dont know. You just have to keep cleaning.

Hey Steve. The upper Willamette has been fairly mossy all spring, I think I mentioned that to you a while ago. Rubber bands, swivels, more 'tea cups' might give you an extra 10 minutes before you need to pull up. I'm not sure anything really works?
