Default Wind River Update

I hiked the Kevorkian trail into Kobuki canyon on saturday after noon after fishing mp 7 canyon and witnessing only snagged fish.
The water was low and clear and fish were few and far between and very spooky.
The hike proved to be worth 2 fish , but had to work for them. Also noticed about 1/3 the people and it seems as if alot of the litter had either been thrown in the river or picked up, also with the hard rain all the maggots on the carrcasses were getting washed into the river as well as the rocks getting cleaned off. I think the the litter patrol on the 16 th will be succesful in picking up what is still left. It looks as if the hordes are gone and only the diehards are left. should be some good fishing left for us as well. There will be a bonus Vision handout for whoever shows up to help.
Peace Superfly

Sounds pretty good to me, Superfly. Glad to hear that the litter is dimishing with the crowds, unfortunately, so are the fish.

Pack it in, pack it out. Peace

Looking forward to the cleanup in a week and a half. Maybe we should use clumped maggots for bait...?

I'll still be there. If there is no trash, then it just means more time to fish! I've never been to the Wind so this will be a learning experience for me.

And I'll be there, mainly to see that famous canyon and pick up garbage.

I can't make it. I'm playing "Best Man" for a wedding on that date.

I would love to see the canyon, but I have to go to a 50 wedding anniversary that day in Seattle.

Count me in. I've got permission from the wife to go pick up trash but i'm not allowed to have any fun at it. (what she doesn't know can't hurt, right? )

Hey Joe, I'm fishing the last day open for Wilson springers on Friday the 15th. If we driftboat it I will be at the clean-up the next day with ya. If we have to hike due to low water, then I can make it down into the Wind canyon the next day my usual way (roll down the hill), but I would need a flying pig to hoist me back out - or maybe 'Yall will let me ride piggy back up the hill on his strong back, ay? ....

It would be nice to see more of these cleanup events organized where needed. Sends a good message along with the actual needed cleaning.

RT, I'd be glad to pack you in and out of the canyon. Just be sure and bring a winch with a really long cable so we can get you down in there and then hoist you back out.

Might be a good idea for somebody to bring a BBque as one fish can feed a bunch of us and it would be cool to BS and eat after we're done.

Thanks, guys. Peace
