Default Lewis River??

I've heard a few friends talking about the Lewis. Is it hot? Is the limit 4 fish? Is the mouth where everyone is fishing or up river? I would like to go up on Wednesday with my sled, where should I put-in? Thanks for any help.

Default Re: Lewis River??

If you want to fish the upper river perhaps the easiest place to put in is at Cedar Creek (at the "meathole" on the south side, right across from the hatchery). From there you can fish the whole river. Alternatives are to launch at the golf course on the north side or at the Island ramp just down from the golf course. All three are good launches, but getting upstream from the Island ramp can be sporty if the river is low. As of today it is running 2,700 cfs, which is great, near perfect in fact. Incidentally, you can get the river level by calling 800-547-1501.

If you want to fish the mouth the easiest place to launch is at Beebe's, which is about 1000 yards up from the mouth on the Woodland (north) side. Just go I-5 to Woodland, then west thru town, left just before the tracks, then left immediately after crossing the tracks, continuing west along the Lewis towards the Columbia 'til your hat floats.
