Dance Floor Live update
Dance floor is still 15 mikes off shore with 20 plus long fins on board! relayed from stickfish...pictures and details to follow .
I was turned on by stickfish to this group and I am real excited to get my feet wet again.
Its been a while since I have been out...last time was out of the Ventura County harbor in SoCal fishin for salmon, wasn't quick enough to net a beautiful King...Jumped out of the water and snapped my line.....:frown:

Re: Dance Floor Live update
Hey Dee,
Welcome to Ifish and thanks for the report. Its customary to introduce yourself with a fish story....you got a good one for us from fishing down there?
I grew up in Ventura myself, logged some hours as a kid fishing off the shipwreck jetty near silver strand and then out to the islands and back once we got a boat.
Welcome aboard!

They were out of Newport. I heard them on the radio this morning. The ocean was pretty sloppy, so I am sure they were a dancing

Re: Dance Floor Live update
Gee! I didn't know we were live. Ok so here's my story.
Decided to go out with Hitek on the Dance Floor Thurs. Myself & Zeke(The Apprentice) joined with Scott (a newbie young grass seed farmer from Corvallis), our plan was to go straight West twards the Y, til we found good water, Crazyfish joind in the Hunt with Bob(a tunagin retired from Qwest) in Bob's 20' Searunner offshore bracket w/115 Honda, some others were going to join in the hunt, But they never made it cause Halibut fishing was slow, & the weather was rough, so off we went, Hitek took us over the Bar, & proceded west for a short while, than I ended up skippering the rest of the way, we proceded west saw a color change about 40kts, the temp was slow to get over 59deg so we continued to the 125 line, put the lines in, Continued West, nothing for a while til we got to the 125 06 line, than off go's one rod, than another, & another, make it a quad Wow! what a way to start off Tuna 07. We continued West, & a little North. using the out riggers we were able to fish 6 rod's, but switched to 5 rod's for most of the day, never found a particular hot spot, fish were scattered around, basically scratch fishing, with a few multiples, Zukini was working, as well as crome head mex. flag, troll speed was a little higher than ave, probably closer to 8kts seem to be the best, ended up at 44 38 125 11 a long way's out, we than trolled east back twards Newport til about the 125 line, before running in about 2pm. Not a red hot day but a few Doubles, a couple of Tripples, & Quads, lost a few in the Outdrive, & more than ave. Driveby's, & unhooked fish, ended the day with 20 a few peanut's, most were over #20. Bob & Crazyfish stuck with us the whole time, thay got 9, not bad considering only 2 on board, on a rough day, in a small boat. The water temp never got over 59.3, & it was rough most of the day, Bob didn't want to go for Halibut + we were a little late, so we ran straight in, it took 3 hrs or more to get in, ave 14 to 16kts.
