Default Black Forest Archery - 3D Shoot

Saturday afternoon my wife wanted to take a hike, I wanted to put some arrows through the bow...an excellent compromise (yes the key to marriage) was a drive to Silverton and the Black Forest Archery 3D range.

The range is managed by Vern's Archery in Silverton and is located 3 miles or so out of town. The range is open dawn to dusk and is $10 on the honor system. 40 targets of various ranges, lots of 25-35 yd targets and some 50+ for a good challenge. Targets are in fair condition with several new GlenDel Bucks. I only went up to the fletches in a few targets, although I did pass on an awful rotten looking alligator.

When we started, there was only one other person on the range, and we finished by ourselves. The trail is slick in places and has a good change in elevation over the entire course.

Overall, I will go back and shoot it again. I like to shoot 3D, but the crowds on some of the bigger shoots are a hinderance.

Dan

This range has some good uphill and downhill shots. I like the fact that it is close to Oregon City and only takes me about 45 minutes to get to. Beardbuster and I were talking about having an ifisher shoot out there sometime, because we could basically have it to ourselves.

Call Vern! His archery shop is in the phone book. I talked with him last week and he is very friendly and helpful.

I have been there several times and really enjoy it. There are some shots that if you miss your arrow will be toast. Vern is a great guy.

No, but here is his phone number: 503-873-4265. He is a very frienly guy and likes to talk.

I am up for a shoot if you guys are. Even if only a few of us go, it is better than shooting alone. So far it sounds like Camohunter, Micah, and I am up for it and Beardbuster has shown interest as well.

I could be talked into it also, maybe even drag along a couple of friends.

Sounds good, is there a date in July that might work for everyone.

COUNT ME IN!!!

Just warn me when Camohunter is shooting so I can hide. I heard he has a twitch.

The end of this month or even in July would work for me.

OK CR... now it's on ( just bring a bow that stays in one piece)

In general Sunday usually works better for me, but it is not a deal breaker.

Micah, why don't you take the lead on this. Just set a date in July and if it doesn't work for the majority, then we reset the date until it does work. It looks like four of us are down for the shoot.

I am at the mercy of my sciatic nerve, so just pick the date and if I'm good I'll go unless I am out of town scouting. The Saturdays fall on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th and the Sundays fall on the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th.

We should probably do a new post that reads something like "ifishers shoot at Black Forest 3-D tentative shoot date" or something like that.
