Default rough night shad fishing

Took off from Clackamette park and ran out of gas at the OC bridge (about 1 mile or less) Yesterday I had between 1/4 and 1/2 tank (40 gallon tank), tonight empty. I think the high price of gas has led to somebodies siphon hose sucking on my tank in the night. I was a bit confused when the motor cut out and died. First time ever I have ran out of fuel. Took me a minute to figure out what was wrong, since I knew I had gas. Several boats blew by me as I waved at them trying to get a tow to Sportcraft for fuel. Finally some guy on a dock there, fired up his boat and came out and towed me over to the dock (about 1/4 mile). Sportcraft is really proud of their gas and charge accordingly. But I didnt have much choice at this point.

I anchor up next to Steamside and Jet, one of the only ifish stickers I have seen on the water. I didnt know it was them until I got anchored and they saw my sticker. Had a nice conversation and caught a few shad. Gonna have to get after it again tomorrow. Lots of room in the freezer for crab bait yet.

Hey Bait, what's that premix going to do for the guys catalytic converter? You might get the last laugh. A new cat will cost $150 - $300. All that for $60 worth of 2 stroke gas.

Muh hah ha hahahh ah ah aha hahaha

BOE,

Had the same expierence trying to wave someone down for help in that area on Saturday. Finally a got a tow from someone wish I knew who it was. Anybody out there give a tow to a little 14' aluminum on Saturday? Since that expierence I have added a rope in my boat specifically for helping others out who need a tow.

Roy, Roy, Roy...............
First it was 87 springer trips without a fish...............

Then it was shad fishing without the shad........("Lots of room in my freezer")

And now, its a major cranial rectal inversion on baot operations.......... And then blaming it on the neighbor kids.... Shame on you, if you hadent been spending your gas money sitting in the front section at the Acropilis (AKA the Charlies of Portland)you wouldnt have run out of gas...

I won't mention anything about 163 people lining the jetty at Midnight flogging the water for a few bullheads........
But something must be done here. I see from a mailer that the local community collage is offering 3 1.5 hr classes on beginning fishing for $19.95.
I am starting a collection to get you a scholarship and in addition have spoken with the rental operators at blue lake park and they have agreed to offer you remedial lessons on boat operation.........Isnt it nice to have such great friends. O'h and by the way, you might have better luck trolling the 405 bridge for shad, I heard they did well there recently

In BOE's defense I do have to say that last evenings trip went pretty much without a hitch. Except that he caught all the steeeeeeenking fish! Ah well, it was at least nice to get out and meet me first Ifisher.

Boy, is he gonna kick some Husky butt down on the Santiam...this time, it's personal.
