Re: odell reports
Sounds like a good trip! Was the wind "Blew us off the water" bad, or "trolling was rough, but we stayed out and fished" bad? And were the fish still on the small side?
Thanks for the report!!

Re: odell reports
it was bad for anchoring, trolling, and the hands. haha the trolling fish we got were on the small side but the ones we got jigging were between 14-16 inches a couple at 17. but it did blow and a lot of jet sleds got off the lake. ehh, our lil boat did just fine.

Re: odell reports
We braved the fog and wind Saturday morning for six fish on orange jigs with corn. I counted 60 boats around 8:00. It was busy, but I didn’t see lots of fish being taken. It seemed that some boats were slammin’ them and others (Us) weren’t.
I talked to a fisherman at Shelter Cove who said he was successfully catching fish on glow jigs. Is anyone having any luck out there with glow Jigs?? [?]
I was able to wind drift up a couple more small fish along the north side with a spin n glo above a wedding ring before getting blown away.
I met another Ifisher at the dock when we were heading out. Thanks for the help in the wind!

Re: odell reports
where were you fishing then??? we were trappers side, and there were only about 3 boats getting quite a few fish, a blue almore, a green north river, and a silver valco, which was us. not trying to brag, but we did pretty well. what other ifisher did you see? we say aufish101 and waved, didnt get a chance to talk though.

Re: odell reports
Hey Waggle that blue Alomar was probably a guy named Cliff. It seems he has a conveyor belt going at times. He and the wife really know how to put fish in the boat. He's also a wealth of information. He claims to have been fishing Odell since 1967. His info helped us put fish in the boat.

Re: odell reports
yea i have noticed that. there was one day onour trip that he didnt do so hot, but there were others that he definately had a fish on every other jig.he also hooked up i think it was 3 macks in one morning. jcfisher and i, that north river and cliff were the three boats that i saw that were non-stopcatching fish. we leaned some stuff from them that helped.

Re: odell reports
in the past few years later in the season I learned alot of fisherman rely more on there fish finders and line counters....they spot schools of fish and fish that depth...so far Ive seen everyone been jigging pretty much on the bottom. so If u head up and have a fish finder dont be afraid to chase the schools around and see if u dont have some luck

Re: odell reports
anything pink/white or green. one jig every other 3 seconds or so, but switch it up every other bit.

Re: odell reports
Just got back from Odell. Stayed at Odell Lodge. Went out Saturday morning and counted about 80 boats by 8:00. Most spent the morning jigging out from the bluff, and most boats were catching small kokes. A few trollers started picking up fish too, and I switched over to trolling. The Kokanee bite (from what I could see) stayed on for a long time till noon or so. I switched over to throwing spinners around dropoffs for rainbows at about 9am. Caught whitefish on almost every cast. It was fun, but I have much to learn about kokanee fishing. Pink/pearl seems to still be the hot colors.
Did not see any macks landed, but heard one of the guides from the lodge picked up a legal one.
I'll be there again next weekend if I can get my motor fixed by then. I did some damage pulling a sailboat out of the rocks that tried to sail down Odell Creek in high winds. Boy I hope my lower unit spindle is not bent! I can't afford that.
