Wind Too
So we all ***** about people not getting involved, we all think that the Wind has become a dumping ground. Does anyone care enough to put together a clean-up effort of Ifisher's and cleanup this dump???
I'll be the first volunteer! Any takers? This Week! Supperfly?

Re: Wind Too
thank you.
I layed it on the ground for you to stomp on if you will. The other thread is closed as it is degenerating and serves no purpose other than a place to vent.
I was waiting for any good to come of the other Wind post and here it is. A cleanup effort is a good idea. Maybe a little enforcement would be good too. I know a guy calling himself 'Fish Cop' was posting here once upon a time. Where is he now? or any of his brother officers.
Evidently some fishers are videotaping the carnage as well. All of these things are positive ways to deal with the ethically deficient individuals trashing the place. Please be careful to avoid confrontation.
If there are any enforcement officials lurking out there, speak up. Snagging is rampant and unchecked at this location. How about a little support guys .......
<<<<< DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT >>>>>
Kinebra, tell us more about a cleanup effort as you see it. How can IFISH help?
How about some other positive suggestions from the peanut gallery.
Thanking you in advance for your concern and efforts .....

Re: Wind Too
Great idea Kinebra. We had a group down there this weekend and did our own cleanup. Superfly packed out a large backpack full of nothing but garbage that we all picked up throughout the day. He does a lot for this river, much more than the average white trash meat hunter down there. I also packed out a ton of beer cans, fishing line, paper garbage, you name it. There are so many pigs down there it's upsetting. Most of the inbred morons down there (not Ifish members, don't get your feathers ruffled, guys, I'm not talking about you) don't even have the brainpower or the decency to throw the fish guts in the river. They just leave them on the rocks to stink and gather maggots. One spot we went to had a rock that was moving, it was just before daylight so I looked closer to see a huge pile of maggots. IT WAS NASTY!!! I chewed one guy out for leaving fish guts on a rock and he told me to F' off. I would have beat his arse but I have several martial arts degrees and I had to sign a court order declaring that I have lethal hands and cannot fight unless met with deadly force. Too bad that guy didn't pull his fillet knife on me.
There are a lot of pigs down on the Wind, there are pigs on every river. Everybody needs to pick up there own trash, which is obvious, but unfortunately most people dont'. Superfly has always been picking up everybody's garbage, so you can see why he get's upset. Good job, superfly!!! You da man!!!
Peace

Re: Wind Too
I would be interested in helping clean up the wind. This is a river I have only been on twice and because of the mess and crowds havent been back. This sounds like a great idea. Kinebra when are you looking at, weekdays actually work better for myself but could probably workout a weekend if need be.

Re: Wind Too
Her's the plan, we all meet at a certain place down there, fish together so we can have our own little area, then before we leave we don the arm length plastic gloves and go to work until or bags are full, should only take about 10 minutes or so, all fish remains go in the water and the litter goes up the hill. We could probably arrange for a dumpster to be dropped there by the forest circus. Mission accomplished, we get to fish and then pay the river back by cleaning up other trash's trash!

Re: Wind Too
Fly, dont really need to fish, but would be willing to come help pick stuff up and going down and watching some of the doughballs. Would be interesting to see if you could make them nervous by walking in without a rod and just taking pictures and notes. Let me know abotu helping, I work every third day so I have a lot of free time (not really) but I am interested in helping. I might change my mind about fishing, but more interested in seeing the circus. We can throw trash in my pickup also, if we need to. Firedog

Re: Wind Too
I would like to see the Wind river, and this would be a great first visit for me.
Could we do it when I get back or is that too late?
I get back the 7th.

Re: Wind Too
I do not have a Washington fishing license and quite frankly I am unable to afford one. However, I would be willing to spend a day up on the river cleaning it up. The only thing that might get in the way is a proposed trip to Maryland for training in my new job that could happen anytime in the next month.
Please keep me advised either through this forum or through my email link above.
Thanks.

Re: Wind Too
Get a date together and get it posted and if Fobb goes I'll spot him the 8 bucks so he can fish.(I dont really have it either but if youre willing to go pick up trash I'll help you fish) I've kinda been putting off going up there because I'm not a fan of combat fishing but whats the differance between boating it and banking in the zoo?

Re: Wind Too
I know Floatilla two is this weekend along with the dreamcasters event, the following week I will be in Denver, But we could do it the Saturday before Fathers day, Which I think is the 16th, the fishing will still be good and there will be plenty of trash to pick up. There is about 4 different spots which get the brunt of the abuse, depending on how many of us there are I say we hit those spots first and see how it goes from there.

Re: Wind Too
Fly, I have an appointment that morning but could probably be up there around noon to help with the clean up. If you guys haven't filled your bags and left by then. Let me know. Firedog

Re: Wind Too
Plan it and they will come. I will be coming off graveyard the morning of the 16th but if we get a group together I'll be there. I'll be the guy with the disposition of a sore toothed griz and the coffee IV.

Re: Wind Too
I may make it to the dance. Tentatively one or two more to the list.
Next time Justin, you just talk to the guy and point, these hands aren't registered.
Fobb, if Rick's going to fork the bucks, I'll fork 4 dollars, and we'll get you fishing with the cane pole and nightcrawlers with the rest of us. We would be fishing for panfish right?
16th falls between pay periods so that may make it tough to get down there, but we'll see.

Re: Wind Too
Rick, I appreciate the offer. I was a duntz and didn't think about getting just a one-day license/tag setup, so I'm pretty sure I can cover the $8 for that.
As for the cane pole and worm...I's gots a fence I get ta whitewash, an I'm lookin forward to it. I'd let ya do it with me, but I dunno ifn I want to give up that much fun ta someone else. We might be able to work out a financial agreement.
Count me in for the 16th.

I will be there with bells on. It would be an honor to help any way I can. This is our chance to give something back to a great river. I believe we will be rewarded with many fish grasshopper. Great Idea
