Default Humbug Creek

Since the coastal streams opened for trout this past weekend, I decided to fish the solitary route instead of fishing with the huge memorial day crowds. Was browsing through my fishing in oregon book and decided to try a little creek called Humbug creek. Its a small tributary of the Nehelam river chock full of small, plump, and fiesty cuts, and rainbows. Fishing with my new 3 weight 7 foot rod, I was having a blast hooking into these 6-11 inch muscle fish. fished from 10 AM to 2 PM hooking into a total of 30 fish total. About half/half cut to rainbow ratio. Biggest fish was around 12 inches. Great fishing day and I will definately go back in the near future!

Just remember the rainbows you are catching are all steelhead smolt. Probably better not to mess around with them.
