My garage, 1990 15hp long shaft johnson.
e-mail me if your interested. I inherited
a 4 stroke honda with electric start, don't
need the two cycle any longer.....
Couldn't seem to email you. I don't think I can use a long shaft. I am going to put it on a 14' aluminum boat and I think the shaft would be to long. Otherwise I would be interested. Thanks for the offer.

You can also mount the motor a little higher by extending the transom height, they only differ by 5"(I believe). You can make a long shaft shorter but you cannot make a short shaft longer!
The cool thing about cabelas is if you use their card you can get about $20 credit toward other gear from the bonus points!
Grits..I know where you can get an 89 8 hp. Merc....short shaft with about 30 hours total time on it. Says he wants $900..but I'll be he'd let it go for $800. E-Mail me if you want the guys name. He's got all the papers too.
The longshaft is always preferred with higher resale value and application on almost any boat. The skeg will extend down about 8 extra inches. This will affect a boat on plane but it will still plane at a slightly higher speed.
This motor will fish on a driftboat or sailboat but a short shaft will not.
