Tuna Season is almost here! I feel like I've come out of hibernation. Here fishy, fishy, fishy...

Looking forward to a great year. Everyone have a good winter/spring? My refer is just about empty of fish- just in time.

I took out my next to last package of TUNA loins for dinner last night
Boy was that good
Soaked in yoshida's for 30 minutes then on the BBQ they went

Hopefully the TUNA will be here for the Depoe leg of the OTC and I can start putting some away for this winter

We only have 3 more weeks til the 4th of July
The next 2 weekends June 23/24 & 30th & July 1st will be dedicated to butts,,,, but if the TUNA are close I could see going for both if I can get a crew together that is willing

I will be closing up shop on the 4th and will fish TUNA the 4th - 8th weather permiting and if TUNA are close

I am limited to about 60 miles one way
12 gals of gas gets me 22 miles at cruising speed
And about 30 miles at trolling speed
I carry right at 75 gallons
With the one third rule that is about my max if I troll back in most of the way for salmon

Hank, Sounds like a plan, Pilar, & myself are thinking similar, & we will discuss it further tonight at the TA meeting in Corvallis, I thing by then the 23rd Tuna will be within the Shelf, 20kts or so from the Ranch, Banana, or Daisy....so go out get your Halibut, than motor a little further for Tuna. I have a vacation from 6-21 to 7-2, I truly expect to catch Tuna sometime in that time span.
