Default Sandy River Report

Fished the lower river this morning. Saw one fish caught and landed from a drift boat just after 10 a.m. The gal did a nice job playing a hot fish and the oarsman did a nice job with the boat and net. I was a ways upriver but it looked like a Springer.

The river is silting up due to the warm weather. That good ole' chalky green. I saw 5 other boats go by - nobody else was doing anything. Me included.

Oxbow to Dabney this afternoon and evening. Caught one summer steelhead and might have lost bait to a springer back bouncing in one of the deeper holes. Didn't see any sizable fish rolling in any of the holes. One nice fin clip for the bar-b-que.

I cant believe how slow it is.

I fished the last two says and really pounded my usual spots. Burned a lot of eggs but didn't touch a fish, nor did I see any caught. Heard rumors of a couple up at cedar creek, though. Whats more is that I am only seeing a few fish roll each morning which is really odd for this time of year up where I fish. Usually they are rolling constantly, and we are taking several fish each morning by now.

Oh, well. Ill stay home and play with the kids today, maybe do a little cutthroat/laremouth/bluegill fishing in a farm pond I know. Cooler weather should clear the river up, then fishing is going to be RED HOT! Boy is it overdue.
