Trailcam photo contest
Cuddeback finally posted the brackets for the photo contest. I made the top 64 with the muddy bugling bull pic.
Lots of good pics in the contest though, so it will be tough to win. You have to type in your e-mail to vote. My pic is in the first bracket (blue division) and is the only elk in the contest.
Here's a link if you want to vote. Sorry mods, but I don't know how to put up a link the other way. http://www.cuddebackdigital.com/photocontest.html

Re: Trailcam photo contest
Its gonna be tough to beat those east coasters when they dont know what a elk is, ...... if it isnt a whitetail under a feeder, they wouldnt recognize it.
Ya got my vote Ron

Re: Trailcam photo contest
Sliver Picker...
Congratulations on making the first braket round. These trail cams are a real impressive tool. A lot of animals are shot and there is no bag limit.
Wow this must be just like hunting in pre-historic times... only different.
The contest in brackets sure is a real fair way to do a run off too. Right now you are up against a black bear. In the future who knows.
The buck with blood red antlers is amazing. There are other photos taken in the daylight that have composition of a wildlife painting. I think the lynx or bobcat taking down a whitetail deer is, like your bull in bugle stance, a one in a million shot.
I think this simple little contest is the closest thing to turning hunting into a sporting event. Anyone can enjoy and learn from this contest.
With pro or college football, golf, etc I am a fair weather sports events fan. I think it's fun to be a part of the excitement of the super bowl but don't fuss too much about a games aftermath. (Exception Seahawks vs Steelers in 06)
OK. So here I votes 32 different times in less than 10 minutes. As this continues though I plan to take longer and harder looks at the photos. Who knows maybe I will make a Sliver Picker penant to wave now and then.
In the end I think the winning photo will have won because it had what it takes. I think this contest is, at this point, about being in the game... or should I say in the hunt? I wonder if there are simular contests from trail cams elsewhere on the planet?
I hope everyone on this forum votes early and often. Well actually I'd rather everyone just voted once.

ole Gene "Rambling Redneck" Wensel is probably shaking in his boots thinking OH NO, I'm competing against that Northwest Brush Ape and his bugling bull!!!
Wanted to mention to take time and look at all the pics, some pretty cool stuff! Can't believe how bloody that one buck's antlers are, look like they were dunked in a bucket of paint!
Heading up in the woods and check the cams for some potential 2008 contest pics.

I voted for you Ron, and not because your an Ifisher. Yours truly is one of the best on there.
There are a few good ones on there besides yours, but boy, i think theres a lot of pics here on our Trailcam thread here on ifish that would have a lot of those on the Cudde site beat, hands down. Were fortunate to be able to view the handiwork of some very talented local trailcammers!

We'll at least give it a run for the money buddy! There are some truly amazing photos in the contest, the buck with the farm in the background was pretty damn cool!
Best of luck Ron!

I don't feel it's life or death whether I won or not. Just having fun and posting critter pics for folks to see if enough for me. Heck, I had nothing to do with it, just bonehead luck. The bull is the true superstar of the photo, if only he knew!

Re: Trailcam photo contest
WHAT ?
I messed up.....
After viewing all the Brackets I tried to get back to the Blue Bracket where your photo was so I could vote and ended up selecting the wrong group.....
don't worry I'll get three guys at work to vote for your photo. Kind of a funny set up. As you select the groups how do you get back to the first group ???
Silverpicker: I want to vote for your photo because it is the best one there and I mean the sincerly. You must have set your camera on a rub ? to get such a great opportunity. What are the chances of getting a pose like that ??
Great job.....

The way they set it up isn't real user friendly, but I think they're trying to prevent guys from voting multiple times. Wish there was a viewing section where people could just look at all the pics before going to the voting brackets. Maybe I'll suggest that when I get on the Cuddeback ProStaff!
Abalone...I had it on a wallow. The bull wallowed about 20ft up the hill in a different mudhole, then walked down and stopped in front of the camera to bugle at the herd bull. Bonehead luck on my part! But I'd rather be lucky then skillful anytime.
Brian...They grow some toad grain fed whitetails back in Kansas! It might be fun just one time anyhow. Probably easier then hunting a cagey old Blacktail in the Cascades, and alot better eating.
