Geez I sure hope they let them expand more then 40 deep before they start giving out moose tags. It would be real nice though to see a mass amount of Moose moving around in Oregon

It sure would be cool if ODFW would spend more time encouraging moose instead of wolves.

The wolf packs are going to need lots of meat to feed on. if nothing else, perhaps they could encourage them to come to Oregon as another food source for the wolves.

Back in the 80s when I was in northern Idaho, there were a few moose around but since then they have exploded and are everywhere. Looks like the wave has reached us - wonder how quickly they might expand. Will be interesting to see. Of course if they get too numerous, appropriate measures will need to be taken.

(Although I'm sure it will just mean another unsuccessful on by notification card.)

Ha ha, that is a very good point that you have there.

I sure would head to Oregon, if I was a moose!!

I guess Moose must be better swimmers than wolves.

What, 40 moose in Oregon!!!!

ODFW better hurry up and issue, like 1000 tags for cows and immature bulls.

There was a moose story and pics in Oregon Hunter Mag. several issues ago. One pic showed a really nice bull someone photographed in the Minam unit. Dig out your Oregon Hunter mag and take a peek if you belong to OHA.

As a kid I grew up hearing stories of moose walking down main street Enterprise. But what happened to them? Never did hear why they left, or if they were really here at all. Not once in all the times of floating the Grand Ronde did I ever see a moose........WOW, would that be cool to come around the bend as see them standing alone side.

GRB, I totally agree. ODFW is spending WAY TOO MUCH effort on wolves.

Good to hear on the Moose! Im sure they will keep expanding. I bet they would really thrive on the coast range here in oregon if they made it that far. Lots of thick wet areas and clearcuts.
