Default (Seelicious Sat Phone Report) Live from Halibut Hill…

Bud and Big Bud (his Dad) are out and on the fish. One in the box with a few put back. Looking for another nice keeper and then off to the Salmon grounds. “Bright blue skies, greasy flat ocean” was the quote from Capt. Sheik.

Nice work Buddy, you earned some time on the brine after the excavation project yesterday.

I love my job!

Bassin Cliff you are so right
I get burned about 50% of the time but that means 50% of the time I am right in calling it off and saving all those hard earned $$$ on trips to coast for nothing

UPDATE 10:45am:

They are tagged out with 4 nice fish. Seely and Freddy D are on board as well. On step and running to the Nook hole.

It's quarter past beer and I'm heading to lunch.

More to follow if I make it back to the office.

Tell him I am here at work supporting his right to fish and paying money into his SS account. Somebody has to work and somebody has to fish. I loose.

Good job big bud and bud.Reporting live from the rock pile out of newport.3 drifts, 5 fish so far, smaller fish.Yesterday we fished the ranch, tough fishing, we did get our limit but had to work hard. Lost a very nice fish, funny thing was that a few hours earliar, we got hung up and lost 600' of 100lb braid. A few hours later I hook up into a very nice fish, was on the fish at least a half hour, the fish made several runs back down to the bottom, it came off, and our missing braid was hooked onto my hook. So we grabbed the other rig, I tied a improved albright and spooled er right back up.Conditions now pretty much are 3-4ft swells with a 1ft windwave.Must I mention electric reels are KILLER!

OK, I made it back to the office (barely) and this is the last thing I do before I hit the door.

Seelicious is back in her slip and the fish are on the cutting board. 4 nice Butts, no Nooks. The Salmon have moved on from the hot spot.

Buddy and crew are off the water tomorrow, more work at the beach house.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

At 8:45 am the ocean is not bad at all...at least in close of the Nehalem. Wind and rain are picking up but no real swell or sheep.

Fog hanging off shore but fishable...but not for us...back to work.

Maddie and Me II is on the hill today...report to follow.

Maddie and Me II reports nasty conditions off shore...crew turned green and wrapped two lines in the wheels right out of the gate.

They scrapped it and came in...just a little aggressive!

I guess I did good cancelling todays trip. I was feeling bad when I first got up and the wind didn't look to bad. Then I keyed up the Stonwall Banks buoy and it showed 21kt out of the south so I figured it might be nasty.
Thanks for the report.
