Question FOUND at OC spinning rod and reel

My buddy tangled up and handlined into the boat a spinning rod and reel setup in the Willy at the mouth of the Clack while shad fishing.

It sure looks like someone was trolling for springers when it took a deep six. Looks like it has not been in the water very long.

If you know of anyone who has lost such a rig, have them contact me with the rod and reel info for a safe return.

Peace, Tom

Sent you a PM Tom but it sounds like it may have been someone else's rod/reel.

Wow, I can't believe you found it! That's awesome!

Not only did "someone" find it, but someone I knew found it! A fellow Salty Dog even!

I was going to post it on here too and thought, "Nah, nobody from ifish will find it so what's the use." Where is the emoticon with the "Dunce" hat.

Thanks again Tom and Tom's Buddy! See you Monday a.m.!

ROFL!! Leave it to a "salty dog" to fish for shad with a big spinning rig loaded with powerpro!!

Just goes to show that if you treat others the way you want to be treated you just never know what kind of cool things come your way.

Thanks for all you do for I-fish, Rod. Seeya on Monday.

Peace, Tom

Yeah, was it someone not listening to Jack Glass on the Radio with his "Check your drag?" line.
He mentioned finding a whole rig, including broken rod holder, and reel set way to tight, oops.

No real dramatic story to tell unfortunately. Took the family out shad fishing. My 4 year old son wanted to net an incoming fish so I was trying to help. Moved the pole into the slot where the "active" pole WAS then proceeded to catch the reel handle with the net and lifted it out of the slot. I was looking the other way at the time and turned around just as the pole bounced off the gunnel and 'plunk'.

We tried to snag it ourselves but never could find it. I just assumed it was gone forever. Or at least that I'd never see it again anyway.

Thanks again Tom and Tom's buddy!
