Sportsman Show.......................
Well, what did you think of the Sportsman show?
I liked most of it. Although there were some rude people at some of the booths, but over all
it was fun.

Re: Sportsman Show.......................
I enjoyed it and had a good time as always. You are right about some of the rude people, however, my experience was with them walking around. They just bump into you or politely start pushing you out of their way.
I had a great time seeing other ifishers I've seen before and meeting some new ones. Nice seeing Jennie, Crabbait, Scott Amermanand his Pop, Scott Silagy and Born to be Wild again. And meeting new Ifishers is always nice, Pete, Dipnet and Mr. Dipnet(wouldn't mind a ride in the new NR) , BigTule, Kingfisher at the Kings for Kids booth, and the Greek Chris Vertopolus. I met many more people when I was spending time at the Brads display booth who were Ifish lurkers and some I don't know are members of Ifish or not. It was a real pleasure talking to everyone that stopped by.

Re: Sportsman Show.......................
What I didnt like about it was the long lines. I wasted 29.00 just t go and walk around. I couldnt even take my two little ones fishing, oh well. another thing was all the people walking around drinking their beer. That could be done away with or keep them in the beer garden. I thought that there were rules against this type of stuff. My children do not need to be subjected to that stuff yet. oh well, the one in mcminnville will be here soon. I know we will have fun at that one. Much shorter lines and better food. cheaper Jennie, I never did find your booth. :depressed: So I could not get my kwifish. Sorry.

Re: Sportsman Show.......................
Got there at 10:30 this am and took the Meadows shuttle. Boy was it packed. The really should have called it the Portland Guide/fishing lodge show. That was 50% of it. Did anyone see that sweet deal on a 19" Northriver Sportster? I almost caved. And of course who could forget those archery store girls

Re: Sportsman Show.......................
I took my oldest boy on Friday, in lieu of a fishing trip. He's 11. He really wanted to go. We had a great time. We got to drool over boats. He almost talked me into buying one! I informed him, though, that if we came back towing a boat, we'd have to live in it after my wife kicked us out! Hey, all the more reason to get a bigger boat!
I stopped and said hi to Jennie. It must be strange for her to have complete strangers walk up and say "Hi Jennie! I'm happybrew!" or whatever one's moniker is.
My son really liked the Dock Dogs competition. We got a hoot over the dogs that wouldn't go in.
I was surprised at the number of South African safari booths. There were what, four or five of them? And one advertised that I could buy a game ranch in South Africa for a mere $200,000 to $8 mil.
I, too, was a bit dismayed at guys with stuporous looks wandering around with beer. I would have liked to see it restricted to a certain area, but oh well.
I was happy to see some info on recreational opportunities in Eastern Oregon. I've never spent any appreciable amount of time there, and might even take a vacation to one of the places that had a booth there in the future.

Re: Sportsman Show.......................
I love the show! Got there at 2:30pm today with my son, got my scotty pole holders and a few other odds and ends, sorry to say, no IFish stickers, hats, kwikies or anything else ifish, no booth - no nothing. Oh well. Women in waders were there and my son thought that was cool. Much to see and do. Can't wait till the next one. zip

Re: Sportsman Show.......................
I do have to say that my husband and I did get to see Jennie and that was nice. We got our ifish stickers for the SUV.
He did get a ifish patch. I got a kick out the dock dogs competition. The only thing that our dog goes diving for is our bobbers.

Re: Sportsman Show.......................
 Ahhh yes, the Archery Store "girls"!! Isn't it funny how long you will stay in that "store" and look at "things"! "Just have to buy something" so you have an excuse to stay there longer! They have some "nice stuff"! You have a nice day!!
GotZem!!

Re: Sportsman Show.......................
I think I posted a zillion times that I was pulling out, yesterday at 1:00. But, no matter how much I posted that, I knew some would miss it.
I will not be at the show today, either.
Lumpie Pie was going to work the show, but there were ifish stickers stolen, so I had no stickers, I was out of Kwikfish for the show, and all I had left was hats.
So, I left her and her son a pass, and walked out with what I had left: About 16 green hats and 6 gray beanies.
It was just easier for me to do that, then arrange for a settlement afterwards, with Lumpy.
What a show! I can't walk!

Re: Sportsman Show.......................
I did it right this year, got there on Thursday at 10:50 waited for 10 mins for gates to open along with 20 others, walked around and seen Jennie got my kwiky, Ifish stocking cap (they're cool), got stickers, then found Bobs got two kwik fish, some pro trolls, found a good deal on sea sock, found a great deal on a pellet/BB pistol for the boy they threw in pellets, targets and bottles, seen a buddy of mine wife working the Johnsonville booth she tossed a dog my way, had a hard time staying away from Fishermans booth with the Berkley rods at 58.00 but had to wife knew how much money I took and told her that I wouldn't spend it all, just crused until 5pm then the wife dropped the boy off. We just crused, he was able to target shoot at the kids trailer, pulled on archery for a while, watch the dock dog of course he had to get close enough to get the water shake from the dogs, bought him a target stand for the BB gun that collects the amo he felt that the trout pond was a not as exciting as pulling on a sturg. so we skipped that (that goodness)crused by and seen the SW anglers booth, and then the calendar girls the boy thought that I needed a calendar, told him next year the girls had seem me to many times today already, crused out at 8pm no stress at all. MAN WHAT A DAY!
