We fished the south end all day got 2 of the three (59 & 32) we needed. Drift was fast had to back in to it all day. Not alot of other boats where we were. Lots of boats were coming back from the ranch early today.

Fast drift at the Pile +2k and a few fish. Slower drift at the Ranch 1.5K and some of the boats got into the fish and got back early. The fingers and Hal Hill were not as productive.

I bombed today at the pile. Fished one end to the other and not even one bite. Fishing with a boat load of cherries so I was baby sitting(excuse). Fast drift!!!! 32 oz lead. Thought I had them bracketted after doing so well earlier in the year. NOPE!!!

Not the reports I wanted to hear.

Fortywinks and I will be out and about tomorrow out of Newport. Should be better than being at work no matter the results. I need the break.

At least tomorrow I shouldn't make any City Councilors mad.

We were out and scratched up one 44" fish at the south end of the pile. Nice, nice ocean but like the others said, a fast drift. It was hard to stay near the bottom, even while backtrolling.

The wind came up in the early afternoon and a pretty good herd of sheep came along with it. No swell to speak of, but with the wind going in the same direction as the drift, we really scooted along. We finally came in around 2 o'clock.

Sure felt nice to see a calm ocean after the days that we've had. Funny though, all of us kept looking west and murmuring "tuna...." What do you suppose causes that?
