Default broken rod tip help

Did it again! Broke the last 5 inches off my fav rod. Can this be patched effectively by splicing the rod itself?????? Insert inside rod??? Don't want to just add a tip as I like the action as it is (was) Thanks in advance.

Depending the the rod manufacturer you may be able to exchange it for a new rod.

if you can't replace the broken rod, go to rodbuilding.org. They have a how-to section on splicing two broken rod pieces back together. Basically, you will need to glue a sleeve over the break.

I've done this repair on a few rods, and it works OK

Next time, buy a Lamiglass, if you can. I broke off the last ten inches of one of mine a few weeks ago - went to their shop on my way back from fishing the Rainier area, and in minutes I had a whole new upper half of my rod. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!! Thanks Lamiglass.

Sorry for my lack of technical prowess on actually getting a repair done!
