that's too bad...he knew how to run a business. very customer oriented, though not the always the best price around, i ususally tried to give him my business to repay them for all the free flats of mine they have fixed over the last few years.

He was a icon and I think they are the best tire store period. Even if they were a little more expensive they have fixed a lot of tires of mine and they are every where. I wish his family the best.

You guys want a good funny book to read He put out a book on how he got where he was. I picked up a copy once and couldn't put it down. It was bascially david verse golitha as he spit in the eye of the big american tire dealers who wanted to basically keep the little man down per say. He started importing his tires from overseas. He in my opinion had the customer service thing all figured out and believed in taking care of his employee's. HE will be missed I think by many.

He was a good 'ol red blooded rural American. A leader in customer service. I don't buy tires any where else. Although it was before my time, he used to allow people to hunt his property on a regular basis.
