Re: Fly choice on the Molalla
If you go up into the headwaters, there are still some native cutts around(catch and release gently). Usual stuff, I like a yellow humpy,sz. 110-14, floats high, cutts love it, and it's easy to see in turbulent water. Small Stimulators, Elk Hair caddis, Parachute adams, ants, and beetles round out my dry box. Small Santiam stone nymphs (8's and 10's), Olive Hare's Ears, Prince nymphs, Soft hackles, and even san juan worms, all find their way on to my leader from time to time, when there's no surface action. Won't find many big fish, Just hungry ones. Lower river mostly plants and *********, and steelhead and salmon smolts. Mike
