NE Bear Report

Just got back from bear hunting over in the Blue Mountains. We did not get any bears, or see any, but we did see tracks in the snow and a lot of potential for the next two weeks. The weather was perfect and the snow on the logging roads were melting fast. If you are heading over within the next two weeks, the bears should be out!

Thanks for the report Mitch I will be in the Weneha unit the last 2 weekends of the season for my first ever bear hunt and cant wait.

Yeah, thanks Mitch! I was thinking I waited too long to go. I'll be in the Wenaha too starting this weekend. Will be my first eastside bear hunt.

Went with my friend on saturday and hunted the wenaha. We didn't get there until around noon. We pulled up to one of our spots and low and behold we spotted a mountain goat all by himself it was pretty crazy. I look up the hill and not 200 yards above the goat there is a nice brown colored bear grazing away. It is a long shot my friend missed twice. No other bears spotted after that.

Some friends of mine were up last weekend and saw 4 bears. One was a blonde bear but they missed it. But they are definately out now!

Just had two buddies whack a couple nice color phased bears with their bows over there. They saw 15 of them in two days...

Here's to the chance that HOG of a bear we spotted last year faired well over the winter and is found grazin' Sunday AM.
