Dream Casters
Event Update and Participant Deadline
We are fast approaching our event date of 6/2/01! We wanted to provide you with an update of our “to do” list.
The Dream Casters bank account is open, we have our tax id # (93-1317316) and our non-profit corporation was registered effective 4/24/01 registry # 007557-93 with the Secretary of State. We are just beginning to work on the 501C3 paperwork which will take approximately 4 months to complete but will make our tax exempt status retroactive to 3/1/01 so that our contributors donations will be tax deductible for the 2001 tax year. We will be listed in the Portland and Clackamas County yellow pages under Charitable Organizations and are currently listed in directory assistance. The telephone number for the organization is 503-655-5585. (Ken and Lou Anne are donating the expense of the listings and sharing Lou Anne’s business telephone with Dream Casters.) The mailing address is 6811 Glen Echo Ave., Gladstone, OR 97027-1527.
A huge thanks goes to Chuck Cradit for his $40.00 donation (our first official donation!) to the cause. On 4/22/01 we received our next cash donation for $300.00 from a joint effort by Mr. Robby Eidem of Professional Safety Services and Stacy & Witbeck! The prize money of $150.00 for a fishing derby without a winner was donated and then matched by Mr. Eidem. We are very grateful!
Our thanks also extend to Mark Bowles and Dennis Castle of Millenicom for hosting our Dream Casters website. Ken Johnson has been working with a sign company for a banner. Tom Strickland is working with Tony’s Market to see about donated or discounted smoked shad canning. Lou Anne has been calling for donations of cash, boxed lunches, t-shirts etc. Michael Teague has been working on our website design and logo.

*********************Important Deadline*****************
Please notify us by email at
DreamCasters@usa.com or by calling 503-655-5585 as soon as possible but no later than Wednesday, May 9, 2001 with your firm commitment to participate. We will not be able to firm up how many kids we can get until we know exactly how many boats and volunteers we definitely have.
Also, at the same time please indicate your t-shirt size, how many kids you can accommodate on your boat and if you are bringing a helper with you. If you have friends, family or significant others who would like to help with registration and “land duty” indicate their level of commitment as well. We need their names (first and last for nametags, print please).
We are also looking for volunteers who would be willing to make computer certificates for the kids. You would be provided with a list of names by 5/23/01 or earlier for the 6/2/01 event.
Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
