Re: looking for anchor system
I know a guy that wants to sell his setup. I don't know what he wants for it though. If you E-Mail me...I'll give you his number. If it were me...I'd probably just go buy one.....I don't think you live close enough to Hillsboro Oregon to justify the savings. If you're still interested...I'd be happy to give you his name and number!!

Re: looking for anchor system
scotty. you can buy a package deal of anchor bouy 80 lbs, anchor puller, anchor chain, folding galvanized anchor, 300 ft of rope and a rope bag for approx 250.00. You can find these package deals at any decent marine supply store and maybe even cheaper. If you want to find out about the above package call 1-800 225 7023. They will even ship it to you so you dont have to make a trip. I deal with them all the time and have always received excellent service.Cagey.

Re: looking for anchor system
Suggeston,
Find a local welding shop and have them make you an anchor. Buy you 300-500 ft rope locally. Mail order the A3 or A4 bouey and the puller, there are two one plastic and about $18, works OK and one somewhere arround $30 - 40 metal, nicer. That way you reduce your freight and have the system you want. You will also need 12 - 20 ft heavy galvinzed chain, 1 shackle and one I dont know what it is called but it is a galvinized metal liner for where the rope ataches to the chain to reduce wear on the rope. If you cant find these items, call fishermans marine in Portland and I bet they would ship them to you. Good fishing

Re: looking for anchor system
Hey Scotty,
Had the friend make the rocker anchor, cost was a couple of fishing trips. Bought the plastic release assembly and the 90 lb (I think, it is the lager size) buoy at Auburn Sports, release assembly was around $15 and the bouy was an end of the dye run second for $25 (about $40 cheaper than a "perfect" buoy, only difference is that the blue color was not bright blue). 300 ft of 5/8 no stretch anchor rope came from Seattle Ship supply for about $160 or so, they also braided one end with the galvanized insert when I bought it included in the price. So total was about $200. Had the chain and the shackle. The whole setup isn't cheap, but what you have to have for the big river. When ya get it and set it up make sure you attach the chain and shackle on the bottom end of the anchor and tie wrap the chain to the top eye, this will help ya get it back if it hangs up, had to learn this one with a lost anchor myself, it was left on the bottom of the mouth of the Lewis River a few years ago!!! Hope this helps ya out.
Good luck and tight lines, Jeff

Re: looking for anchor system
Could be, We went with what the "expert" at Auburn Sports suggested. Whichever size you use I do suggest the "no stretch".
