Default Good Wading Staff & Studded boots

I need to borrow/rent a good wading staff for a few days in Sept as I have an invite to fish the Umpqua for summers. Can't see buying one for one time use.

Also need wading boots with studs, 9.5 /10 if anybody has a pair to share.

Will rent in cash, trade for (gasp) some cured salmon eggs, fresh frozen halibut or salmon. I do plan to catch a few summers but do not plan to keep any. If I am wearing your boots / staff and you want me to bring you a fresh summer or 2 from the last day of fishing that is a done deal.

Also, if damaged the items will be replaced or repaired at the owners discretion, no questions asked.

Thanks for reading

You might want to contact CountrySport in SW Portland. They rent boots, and may be able to rent or loan a staff.

Steve,

I might be able to help you out on the studded boots. Let me check the garage this weekend.

Steve, I've got a few pairs (Danners, Simms, and Korkers) of studded sole wading boots that fit my size #9 foot plus neoprene waders. I'm sure one pair will be available.

I also have a pair of (REMEMBER THESE!) Dan Bailey river grippers which are those pull-on rubber galoshes with the big aluminum bars stuck to the felt soles. You can walk up a wall with 'em.

I dont have any boots that size, but what I would recommend for a wading staff is just an old ski pole. They're cheap and thus disposable if they break. I just affix some rope to the ski pole and then use a carabiner to clip the rope to my wading belt or chest pack. You can probably find some at a used sporting good store, garage sale, or on craigs list. I wouldnt pay more than 5-10 bucks for one. The fancy wading staffs are nice because they fols up, but I have lost and damaged too many so I go the cheap route when it comes to staffs.
