Default My intro story.

I have lived on the Oregon coast for over 35 years and I have fished for just about everything there is around the coast area. I am happily married to a beautiful lady that loves to try to outfish every chance she gets.
We have a 14 y/o daughter that also loves to fish as well.

Two years ago my wife and I went on a halibut trip with my uncle on the Miss Raven. My wife was the only woman on the boat and my uncle made it clear that everyone was to be respectful and to watch thier language.

His deckhands immediatly laughed at him and told him that he would eat his own words by the end of the day. Asfter everyone had thier fun we cast off an awhile later arrived at the hill and we began to fish. Within minutes people were yelling out fish on!!

During this time my uncle was standing beside my wife when she suddenly hooked up to a nice fish. The next thing I knew i heard several of the guys and the deck hands yelling at my uncle to "quit playing with the ladys *** and to let her catch her own fish". Not knowing what was going on I turned to see that my uncle had his hand partially down the back of my wifes pants and that he was pushing down on them enough for her cheek to partially show. I could tell that she was fighting a big fish but for the life of me I could not figure out why my uncle would have a hold on her pants.??

My uncle then looked back and saw me and then he said " your wife tried to get her small butt pulled in by a big butt so grabbed her to keep her from taking a swim and im not letting go unless you want her to go play with her butt in the water!".

Needless to say she landed her butt which measured out at 47 inches and I landed mine a short time later. Yes she outfished me as mine measured out at 37 inches. My wife also took the credit for hooking up and handing off her rod to the guys accounting for 7 of the other keeper fish that day.

Still to this day I get razzed about the day that my wife outfished me on a haliduut trip and had another man playing with her butt.
I just love it as she is my best friend and getting out fished by her is worth it every time.

Sounds like that should be your wifes story or should I say the one armed skipper.

My story is not as exciting and it gets me in trouble with the wife when I tell it but here it goes.

Three years ago I got my wife a new light action rod and real for mothers day so when she opened it she wanted to go try it out immediatly.

We live less than 5 minutes from Olalla Lake so we packed up our gear in the truck and went fishing. We had only been fishing for a couple of minutes when I got the first bite. I set the hook and started to real in a nice litle trout when I saw a bigger fish swallow it whole. I kept reeling and the fight was on until it spit out the trout.

I was bummed but I still had the trout hooked so I started to real it in again when the big one came back and swallowed the trout again. At this time I could see that it was a Large Mouth Bass and a nice one at that. I flipped my bail in the hopes that the bass would run with the fish and swallow it. I minute passed and I saw the trout float to the surface so I though I had lost both fish only to find that I still had a fish hooked up. After a nice battle I landed a nice bass.

My wife was a little disgusted with me catching the first and biggest fish of the day on her day as that day happened to also be her B-Day as well.

I do not think I will ever fully be forgiven by my wife for that day but it was so much fun.
