Zipper celebration!
Just thought you should all know..
Zippers were patented on this day, long ago. How long ago? I forget!
But... this is an important day in history that we should all remember!
Zippers can cause trouble in two ways.
First, if you forget to zip them back up.
Second, if you forget to zip them down.
Oh yeah, and also... the first toy was advertised on tv on this day, many years ago.
Mr Potatoe head.
Please bow your heads in appreciation of our past accomplishments.
Jen

Re: Zipper celebration!
Jennie,
you have overlooked the single most significant, and painful shortcoming of the zipper. As any male could tell you, forgetting to zip is embarrasing (we never fail to unzip), but every male child (and all adult males who prefer to go "ala naturale") can tell you that the most horribly painful and psychologically scarring event in their lives was the time they zipped their (precensored) into their pants. If you think sticking your tongue to a frozen pole is painful....NO COMPARISON!! Furthermore, if you maintain your composure, you can get off the pole without too much pain. There is NO easy way out of a zipper. I'm still afraid to buy anything but button front pants!! Perhaps that was a little more information than you needed to know--but in the spirit of your own post, I might add that "inquiring minds want to know"!!!
As for Mr. Potato Head, he was cool. I was given a wooden carving from my mom recently that used to be in our living room. I was admiring it the other day, when I looked up a whole that had been drilled in its base. Lo and behold, there was my Mr. Potato Head's hand (circa 1965 or so) jammed in the space. I actually remember losing it (another traumatic experience, Mr. Potato Head was never quite the same as an amputee).
I guess that was WAY more info than you were looking for. See ya!

Re: Zipper celebration!
When I think about bad experiences with zippers, I can't help but think of the movie "There's Something About Mary". I have never heard about anyone doing anything that extreme, but I bet every man who saw it, has doubled over in agony.
