Default Any Santiam Updates?

Anyone manage to get out and try either the North of the South Santiam this weekend? Honey-do's kept me in the yard with busted sprinkler systems and new grass seed so would appreciate any info from guys who fish up there or know what's going on (Artwo, willierower, EZ Drifter, etc.). It seems with the numbers that have gone over the Falls that there should be some fishing starting to shown in both rivers by now. Thanks in advance.

I have a few reports of some good steelhead fishing below the dam on the s.fork. Tons of boats though. With 8,000 steelhead over the falls already it should be a great run.. Joe

Well the North came up a bit since last week. Also the water was a little cooler. We did not have a takedown nor did we hear of any takedowns. The previous week we went for a afternoon drift and got 3 in two hours. Two big ones with too many fins and one about 10 lbs that was just right on the grill. Good Luck

I fished the South this morning. We put in at Gills landing in Lebanon and floated down about 3 miles. The only fish caught was cutthroat.
Saturday at Lebanon dam there were a few chinook taken.
There are plenty of steelhead available. A friend of mine hooked 6 steelhead and 1 chinook on friday. Other than that I dont really have any good reports.

Drifted to Pleasant Valley on Sunday along with need I say, MANY other boats. Landed one summer and lost another (a little bit anxious C'N'D? ). Saw no other fish caught by 12:30. Water is flowing fairly high still..... Gonna start focusing on Springers sooner than later

Any of you guys know anything about the drift (approx 6 miles) below Mill City? I've heard of a large falls that that you can slide your boat on the beach to avoid? Thanks
