Default Hey Fishbait

I first of all wanted to thank you for the trip this morning. Nice fish you got today.

And that cute little trick you pulled when you had me look the other direction at the boat that was suppose to have a fish on when you stole my cookie out of my lunch. That was real funny. I am wise to your ways now.

Well I want you to check out what I left for you in the bottom of the burlap bags I gave you. I stuck them way down in the storage box on your boat, so you wouldnt find them until later.

Muh ha ha ha ha ha ha

muh ha ha ha ha ha ha

No nanners in my boat. Got ya

Roy, Found the rotten bannanas in the gunny bags, you are a funny guy. Thank for the bags though, oh, you cookie was excellent. By the way, you might look in your coat breast pocket, that sardine I gave you that you never used should be put in the fridge.......
OH, who says that bannanas are bad luck. I gave that fish to Howard as he had only cought one this year. Look forward to fishing with you again.

Steelie Steve,
I was in OC all day Saturday and saw 1 fish caught in the garbage hole. I had one take down on a quickfish anchored right in front of the top of Clackamette. Put a shad rod out for my kid in the afternoon and he slayed them.

****** tells me those shad make great bait for monster gators. He wants to take us out and watch the biggies kick our butts. It would be fun actually getting into a fish that fights. BTW looks like you went this morning.

****** - sounds like fun, since fishbait thinks he knows the trask tidewater maybe we ought to do some tidewater bobber fishing. I heard you were there once also.

And I just checked my coat, since when I got home I threw it in the garage. No Sardine, but you did make me look.

Oversize fishing is fun, the biggest problem is trying to get the rod out of the holder as lots of the oversized fish just seem to swallow the bait and take off. The first few usually don't make me wimper too bad, but after that the arms they do get a little sore. A fishting butt and harness is a must have.

BOE,
What do you mean you didn't find the sardene. I must have put it in another pocket. Man, you should get that thing out of your coat before the maggots start eating away at the lining........Fishbait

BOE,
one more thing. I think that next time you go back bouncing you might borrow a friends levelwind reel. You will find it much easier than using your spinning reel.......

I do think chasing the big gators is a lot of fun. I havent done it for over a year because I kind of felt kind of bad sore mouthing these large creatures. When July gets here and the Columbia is full of shad maybe we need to put together an ifish, oversize, pull the boat around, double buckle the rod fishing fest below bonneville.

And Fishbait is right, I got a gimble butt on the last sturgeon rod I bought and a fighting belt to receive the gimble butt. An hour of being drug around by one of those monsters can really put the hurt on the arms.

Steve - have not fished all week. Maybe later in the week.

The fish can really pull, and if you get lucky you get a jump or 2 out of them, but for the most part I would say it is just a big tug of war.

So I hear some whimpin' here? We will
just sit on the anchor and fight them.
That way, at least the current lifts the
fish up, instead of dropping off and
fighting it straight up and down, which
is no fun after the hookset and jump.
Don't matter to me, just like takin'
people who have never done it and LMAO
at them and listen for the very loud
cherry pop!

Hey guys....just for your info...a shad took my secret lure out there by Washougal Friday afternoon. Could it be the first shad caught in the Columbia?? Is it worthy of a headline in the Oregonian sports page?? LOL Here they come!! If I wouldn't have caught and released that one...today's fish count for shad at Bonneville might have been only ONE!!
