Default Velcro vs Bait Wrap "Try It"

No need to cut a chunk of sardine and wrap it on your Kwickfish. Instead, put a piece of peel and stick, tape backed Velcro on your plug and press a small amount of sardine flesh into the nap of the Velcro. When the plug goes in the water the sardine will slowly wash out of the Velcro leaving a strong sent trail. The Velcro doesn't effect the action of the Kwickfish like a chunk of mis-aligned sardine can. You will be suprised how long the sardine stays in the nap of the Velcro.

Use the stiff side of the Velcro not the fuzzy side. The stiff side has deep enough nap to hold quite a bit of the flesh of the sardine.

When you check your gear for grass, etc. simple smear another small amount of sardine into the Velcro. Fresh scent in a hurry.

You can put the Velcro anywhere on the plug. A patch in front of the hook, behind the hook, or even on the top of the plug. It's simple and the tape will stay on the plug until you take it off.

At the end of the day when you want to clean the sardine out of the Velcro a small brush removes it easily. I keep a small brush in the boat for general cleanup and it work great.

"Try it, you'll like it."

I'll be interested in your feedback.

Cool idea! I've noticed that the K13 is difficult to control after you wrap it. This might work!
I'll try it!

Great Idea Dave!!!...plus, if you use the loopy side of the velcro, it could work as a new 'tangle-tooth' sportfishing method!!!

PS
Yes...The Pacific Salmon still feed on metal while migrating. Had one straighten out a treble today...Good Ol'Gold Beach color pattern.

Have you been fighting the zoo at the Wind?...the wind at the Zoo???

John, a "tangle tooth" plug sounds like a great idea but, I'll let you develop that one.

Nice to know your still getting into the Pacific Sal.l.l.l.mon with your Rogue colored hardware. I seem to remember you giving me guff because my spinner had red on it. Oh yes, it was the red spinner that caught the fish that day.

Lost a fish yesterday when it straighten one tine of a treble hook. Sure is frustrating when they only get one tine out of three.

Tried the Wind a couple times. Last weekend there had to be 200 or more boats there. Lost one to a bent tine on that trip too.

When the Columbia closes I'll either be in the channel or at the Wind. See you then.
