Yes, they were "workers" not "cruisers".
Buyers could choose a highway-friendly 4.89 rear end that could get you cruising at 50 mph in the fast lane, or a stump-pulling 5.83 that would top you out at blistering 45 mph in the top gear. It featured a two-speed transfer case and a 4-speed transmission with a power take off which would send power to the front and back of the truck for operating auxiliary equipment. With the optional 10,000 lb front mounted winch, this truck could go just about anywhere, which made it perfect for utility companies, fire and forest service agencies and the military, not to mention farmers with stumps to pull.

$40K MSRP for the 2007 Power Wagon and no long bed option. Can't exactly grab life by the horns if ya can't even haul a sheet of plywood!

4,56 gears are not an option i can find on any other dodge truck. these are the gears i have in my snow plow truck a w350 dodge drw 4x4. if i could get this gearing on a new truck with the 5.7 i could save a bunch of money and still pull my wifes 9100lb trailer, also read today that some dodge trucks made in saltillo mexico have zero% us made parts

The Hemis aren't known for great gas mileage. I'd be willing to bet the Ford V10 would be almost as good on the MPGs. The 4.56 gears won't help the MPGs with the Hemi either.

I'd stick with the Cummins if you're still looking Dodge.

just read a test on the power wagon hemi with auto trans. 12mpg highway 9 city. kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth saying that out load. standard 2500 hemi with manual trans and 373 gears is 17 highway 12 city if you keep it under 70mph. drops to 8mpg towing 6000lb trailer. just more reasons to buy a diesel

I don't get it, are you just paying for the name?

I thought there was no more 4 speed auto with the diesel as well.

with the 5.9 the 4speed is the standard auto, with the larger diesel the 6 speed auto is standard. the 5 speed auto is standard on the gassers. if you read the standard features of the power wagon, you will see it has electric lockers, factory lift, electric drop stabilizers, for free articulation, 33" tires, winch. the problem is the marketing gurus put it all in the top of the line interior luxury package truck

Duh, didn't even notice it was the 5.9, not the 6.7.

I think youre right, throw all that stuff in a truck with vinyl floors and roll up windows, and they would have something to sell.

put a v6 in it and it would sell. all these features in the st model with three gas engines with the 4.56 gears and the 5.9 diesel with higher gears would all sell. basicly a rubicon pickup with more suspension travel

Wholesale means really good prices... we were browsing a month or so when we passed through and the prices and service were amazing... about 4k less than portland!
