Default Multnomah Channel today

Had the pleasure of fishing today with ******. Would have been a great time if only the Chinooks would have been on the bite. We fished the entire outgoing tide. We threw everything at them but the anchor. I had three curious fish nose my herring without biting it . Saw one native released and heard of one keeper taken. Thanks for the nice day anyway ******! He is a very knowledgeable ifisher only the fish gods weren't smiling on us today.

Went out of St helens today but stayed in the Columbia. Landed 1 keeper myself, Partner fought a good size one for five minutes but lost him, Saw 6 hooked, four boated. Sea lions ate two right off the guys line as they were bringing them in.

We saw one about 30 feet away about 30 minutes after the tide change. ODF&W need to do something. Like terminate them anytime upriver from tidewater.

It is protected and pressure was light in the slough....So, I threw out the hook...then we blew to the left...then we blew to the right, left, right. I had 4 sea anchors out!!!L,R,L,R,L,R,L,R,L,R...don't know if I was ever fishin'. Not much of a runoff.

Gave it up. Ran out in the Columbia. Threw out the hook. Started to walk my bait ba....FISH ON!

Change can be exciting.

One keeper and one releaser today. From sunup till one. Both on herring. Fish checker at Scapp. Bay cut the snout off the keeper, it had a tag in it. Said it was of Mckenzie River origin.

Fished the bottom end of the channel this morning for a couple hours. Saw one caught, not our boat.

Ran out to the bottom end of sand island (Washington side) and dropped the hook when the water started to run out around 9am. No more than got there and the guy next to us lost one. Then he caught a nate 5 minutes later. We were holding off cooking breakfast awaiting that hot bite to continue. Finally we gave up and cooked breakfast. Then we had lunch, and about dinner time we left after never seeing another fish on. Catching wasnt very good, but it was light pressure and a very enjoyable place to be.
