SUCKS! O.K. it REALLY SUCKS!! I wouldn't want to give anybody the wrong idea, or mislead anyone. The current is slow, the fishing is so slow that some of the guides were going up the Clackamas by 10:00 a.m..

There's know way this run will turnout to exceed last years. IMHO or am I just having a bad day????

Well, looking at the Willamette Falls counts, this run might exceed last years....but they might not bite a hook til they get to the Santiams.

I think I have logged my time chasing this stinking run of Willamette springers. I keep hearing about an intermittant bite in the afternoon (when I am not around). Like maybe 2 or 3 days a week there is a short bite around dinner time. I cannot seem to find the drive anymore to go out in the morning and waste my time. These fish are eating about the same amount as the folks who are starving themselves on Survivor. Maybe next week I will have a new attitude.

I have logged more time on the Willamette than I care to talk about, In fact when the bite was great on the Columbia Easter weekend I was NOT catching on the Willamette,I've fished prawns, sandshrimp, kwikfish(wrapped or not) and tried everything in the tackle box. I did hook a couple of fish 2 weeks ago but I've decided to turn off my fishfinder because it drives my nuts seeing the fish and them not biting. I've fished all tides and also gone out not caring about the tides, I've trolled and anchored, the last three days I've been out at least 20 hrs. and have not seen ANYBODY hook a fish!!! There I'm done ranting,,now I gotta go out and try again...........
