Default Does anyone have a Columbia report for today.

Where did you go and how was it. I'm stuck fishing the weekends and don't want to miss the best chance the last two days.
Thanks

We backed trolled Bonneville for the past day and a half and only have one fish to show for it. Very busy, tangle's are common and boats are bumping into each other. However some have it figured out and are catching fish. Almost everyone is bouncing eggs, but a few are being caught on kwikfish.

Saw about 10 fish taken in the hog line I was in. All fish were keepers. saw several that got away. Mine had sea lice on it still with two bites taken out of the tale by them pasky seals or sealions.

KarenLee, I just got a new boat and looking for a place to fish tomorrow. Was thinking about St.Helens area. Live in Portland. Where should I put in to fish the Columbia around Long View?

I fished with Dan! around Rainer today, It went pretty slow for us. I personaly lost the only takedown of the day for our boat . The fishing may have been slow but Dan! and Mark were great fun to spend a day on the water with. Thanks again Dan!

Fished between Kalama and Longview today and drew our first skunk out of 6 trips to that area. Only action was one clipped steelhead jack. Not a whole bunch of boats and as far as we could see only two nets came out all day. Landed a couple of shaker sturgeon in the Trojan hole before we left. The wind and rain came from all directions today. It was slow, but I have to admit it was much more relaxing than the deadline.... Joe

Had to work for them all day! 4 on and 3 to the boat and 3 in the box. If you want a good luck charm in the boat with you....Have Chris Sessions take you out. He hooked 3 and put 2 in the box. Everytime I fish with Chris I get to fire up the BBQ. He did it today without the help of the hot egg's. The guy has a new trick for everywhere he goes!

We fished above Frenchman's bar and in general it was slow. We just had a lucky day.....I guess?

Can't wait to book a trip to the Wind with him!

Bill

Wow! 19. Where were they fishing and what does their boat look like? We fished Bonn deadline, used eggs, from light to dark and hooked 5 and landed 3, all 3 fin-clipped. Most of the boats around us had similar success, some a couple more, some a couple less.

Could have been a story but was told they were back bouncing eggs but who knows how it really was, not me.

Thanks for the kind words Bill,
I didn't do anything but sit there and eat your food and drink your coffee and bask in the luxury of fishing in your boat. Picture this: Bill and I are sitting inside the warm cabin of the s. goddess while trolling through a hurricane and rain and hailstorms complete with lightning and more rain, meanwhile the down riggers are set on auto- bottom-track and auto adjust our bait 2 to 4 ft off the bottom! You have to get used to the rods jerking around as the downrigger balls adjust but other than that it was a no-brainer. Thanks for the trip Bill and sorry you didn't get em' on Sunday.
