Default odd sighting

I live in town in Corvallis. I'm driving to work this morning and see a Coyote walking down the sidewalk. Before it comes up.....yes, I know it was a Coyote for certain. Guess we need a leash law for Coyote's now.

Where at?
I haven't spotted any town yotes, but I have observed 2 Cougar near town in the last 5 years. One out the end of Country Club Dr. (North of Philomath Blvd) and one behind the Lewisburg Store.

'Couple of years ago, arriving at my brothers place on SW 64th here in Portland early one morning heading out on a hunting trip, and ahead of me, running right down the middle of the residential street, is Mr. Yote - -- - yes, for sure, it was a coyote and not a dog. Don

Yotes love living in the city, so many kitties and pet food left out, free for the taking. These are some of the most adaptable animals Ive encountered. If you pressure them, they actually will start to have more pups in their litters. I would worry about a yote in the broad daylight though, thats usually not a good sign. Hopefully it was near sunrise or sunset.
We got used to them living near us in Scottsdale, AZ. that it was nice of them to clean up any roadkill, so we liked them around. Sure keeps the rodents in check.

That shouldn't be too worry some, that's pretty much the edge of town. The whole area north-northeast of there is mostly wooded and prairie wilderness.

I live in Milwauike and have seen Deer, Coyotes, Rabbits, Red legs all in my own yard. In fact I seen three Coyotes run through our yard a few years back. No Elk and No Bears yet...... Wouldn't surprize me though.

We have yotes in the parking lot where I work on Sandy Blvd. all the time.

They found a Coyote den out near Ceder Hills recently that had several Dead Cat remains in it.....

Our neighbors loose cats all the time..

I was on Hwy 26 Eastbound a few years back, as I began the desent downhill from Sylvan, something caught my eye just over the white line, just behind the Jersey barrier. A 6 point Bull Elk looked up at me with a big mouthful of roadside grass. I was in shock, but then again Elk do come all the way to the Zoo, and on occassion into downtown Portland.

Monday night 2am, on the front porch eacting the cat food out of the dish.

So far, three polcats, 9 raccoons, one coyote Monday night, two fawns, one forked horn buck, and one calf. One hundred cow birds, 20 macalls. these I really hate. Two many stray cats to count. the neighbors useless dog.

gotta love living out in the country.

Came home Monday night, had two ducks, two geese and two deer within 20 feet of each other on the front field. Asked the wife if we should be concerned, two cats sitting on the bow of the boat. Water from field was rising and starting to reach the driveway.

PDX Max had a 'yote jump on board a few years ago. Several years ago there was a spike elk behind the Oregon City Fishermans Marine(then Larry's). ODFW tried to dart it and ended up running it across McLoughlin and through Clackamette Park and then into the Willy. Great entertainment!

Seems like this sort of thing starts to happen right before any political stir-up is about to get under way. I don't know if it's the smell of mud getting ready to be slung or what.

sitting on the porch on nice june/july evenings here in lapine, it is not unusual to here cats being dispatched in the distance by our local feral cat population reducers. they also do a good job on all the feral rabbits that one of the neighbors thought would be a good idea to release. cats are more vocal as the coyotes kill them but the rabbits can put on a good auditory show

I went out to get the newspaper early one morning. Out of the corner of my eye, " . . . now, THAT'S a big crow in the middle of the street." A direct look revealed that it wasn't a crow but one of a number of wild turkeys which spent a couple of days in the Lake Grove area -- on Oregon's primary election day.

I just figured it was some last-minute campaigning by *** *******. (Turkey's name deleted so as to remain non-political.)

And, yes, we've seen coyotes on our street as well -- really big, healthy-looking ones too. Do you suppose that's related to the cases of kitty-aftermath we've also seen?
