Utah Draw results !

Well I am 0-5 in Utah for elk maybe in another 5 years I will draw a tag.

oh well it would have been tough to hunt oregon, idaho, colorado and utah in one year. Not enough vacation or $$$$$. Well hopefully if any Ifishers put in your luck is better than mine.

Yep I got my email today "UNSUCCESSFUL" for Elk and Moose thats 4 yrs. in a row for me....Well I still have Wyoming and New Mexico still to come. Lets cross our fingers LOL HAHAHAHAHA..................

Nothing for me either, still waiting on NM, and Colorado. I did draw my Montana hunt however!! So things are looking up.

Found out today my partner drew South Slope Diamond Mountain Archery with zero points. In 2006, both residents and non-residents were guaranteed to draw with 4 preference points, so certainly one of the easier tags to draw for Utah, but still a nice pick-up.

He is considering going guided, and hunting the end of the Archery Season, Sept 08-14. Unit is north of Vernal on the Colorado border.

Any info you guys have would be appreciated, especially any experience or knowledge of guides that work in that area.

Hopefully, we will have pictures and a story to post when he gets back.

Struck out again...I think i have 7 points now though...I acually only applied for Moose and point savered deer...I had better stick around home a little this year...

Don't you boys know that there are no moose or elk in Utah

So quit applying, give the rest of us a chance!

BTW 15 yrs now without a draw there.... hmmm 7 of those as a resident too.

Next year it will thin out since it will cost something like eighty dollars to apply. I know a guy who drew an archery tag last year and only had one point. He shot a dang nice bull non - typical 360 ish bull. I have 5 points and it looks like it will take 10 to guarantee a tag. Oh well maybe someday I will get lucky. If they wouldn't give away 265 tags to various sporting groups we might have a better chance also.
