Fooled ya!
Seriously though I had an abnormal experience with a BW-29 last night.
These shows are rather hard on vendors and reps!
I did my first one about two weeks ago or so at the Puyallup show and it was an experience!
Met some ifisher’s from all over including the entire state of Wa., Or., and BC.
Cool!!!
Anyway, the pic.
Let me explain.
These show’s test your endurance (employees and owners) and last night after a lot of you were sound asleep, I made it to my van with lab-top, show material you don’t leave behind, etc., only to discover in all the hectic mad Ka-oss that I locked myself out of my van!
This is great, no sleep, 40 miles up to the Longview area, and here I am.
Most of the vendors are gone already!
It almost appeared that nobody makes a “metal” close hanger anymore and all I could find was plastic ones!
Ended up back inside which was the wrong direction (I wanted to go home!) and after talking to some of the Englund Marine guy’s which included Dean from Newport (I couldn’t even begin to say enough about that guy!), one of the top honcho’s of Englund Marine handed me a halibut spreader and asked; “ this is probably too heavy”?
I thought about the chewed up BW-29 I took to the show to show folk's that; "yep, they do eat these"!
I’m familiar with spreaders and saw that swivel on the end and even though I was “brain dead”, but familiar with “breaking in to peoples cars over the years” , I decide to give it a try.
I tried without any success and no one with a flashlight to guide me to the “hole” (from the other side of the van), but after several attempts, I felt a solid “take down” and set the hook.
Voila! Fish on!
I pulled on the handle and the door slid open and I was very much relieved!
I was on my way home to Kalama!
Special thanks to the Englund Marine employee that went the extra mile to find me something that rescued me!
I’m very tired and worn out and shouldn’t be out-of-town posting on ifish, but this has been my experience with the Englund Marine folks, that they are a very special, helpful bunch of good guys and gals.
Support your "local" businesses because unless you have been through this, it's not all fun & Games!
Not even!!!

First time I ever set the hook on a door latch!
Tight lines ifisher’s!
