planet earth, discovery channel
just watched a piece, one pack of chimpanzees, protecting their territory, attacked another pack. in the process one of the offending packs youngsters was killed and eaten by the winners. the commentary said (no one knows why they do this) canibalize their kill. are they this ignorant or is this blatant propoganda, directed to mislead. THE CHIMPANZEES EAT THE KILL FOR THE PROTEIN. they have just burned a bunch of energy in the battle and eating the kill is their reward. it is also a sign for the competition, invade our territory and become dung piles. television produced by antihunting propogandists is killing truth. smoke and mirrors is what these people are good at. these chimps are not doing anything wrong , they are teaching the compitition a lesson. playing by their rules, not human rules.

Re: planet earth, discovery channel
I think they are just that ignorant. Cannibalism in a species so like us is hard for people to try and understand. Plus, the fact that chimpanzees not only need, but enjoy meat in their diet is something a lot of vegetarians I know are deeply in denial about. They would like to have gone on believeing that its unnatural for people, and apes, to eat meat.

Re: planet earth, discovery channel
They are trying to inject the premise that Chimps or any other animal for that matter can think and reason on multiple levels. There ****** animals they don't think like we do, hence the fact they live in the wild and not in towns or buildings.

Re: planet earth, discovery channel
If you want really, really, really bad info try watching some of the animal planet shows for kids like "Caught in the moment". They had one on bears where they straight up said black bears in the coastal regions of the pacific NW are becoming extinct due to overfishing of salmon and over hunting. How is that for bad info! I won't let my kids (ages 5 and 6) watch animal planet unless I have seen the show or I am there with them.

Re: planet earth, discovery channel
I agree with all you guys! Animal Planet is a AR channel, I have deleted it on our system.
Planet Earth.....Sigorney Weaver makes me puke, but the imagagry is spetacular and the info useful....if you filter the fact from fiction.

Re: planet earth, discovery channel
the problem is most city/urban dwellers think this program is completely real. it is far from reality in the commentary and creative film editing. nearly sitcom level
