Default bank maggot rigging

I fish mostly from a boat these days and a buddy here at work wants to go to SS beach and plunk. What is the standard rigging leader lengths etc.
Thanks

Default Re: bank maggot rigging

30" to 36" leader in 20lb maxima from a 3-way swivel or spreader, 15"to 24" dropper, weights differ depending on the current. Most everyone I've seen is using a big spin-n-glo in 0/0 size. I went down and tried this off a Columbia beach along with about 70 other bankies. The action was mighty slow but it was sunny and nice to be out of house with the possibility of hooking a springer. Good luck to your friend.
