I Headed east last thursday for 4 days of trout fishing and some turkey hunting. The weekend started out great when we saw a couple Hens pecking around the cabin I was staying at all thru the day on Friday. Saturday came and we had more birds show up. I got this picture on Saturday night when we had two toms, a Jake and about 10 hens out Saturday just before dusk.
As you can guess due to the fact that the birds were around that this is the result of a Sunday morning hunt.
Out of three guys this is the take for the weekend. I got the one on the bottom. Nice long beard.
It was kind of a lazy hunt since the birds were roaming around the cabin everyday. They really like the area since there is a river and spring that produces lots of bugs to eat. There is a lot of open space for them to strut their stuff. We even caught the birds scratching in the fire pit.

Even after we shot the two birds we would see more birds roaming around and hour or two later.
