Can anyone confirm the radio station??? Someone else told me the same thing, but couldn't remember the station. It would be another ideal time for an e-mail and phone call campaign. Nothing nasty, just informing them that the nets cannot differentiate between finned and finless fish, and are not a viable way to harvest these fish without damaging the wild component.

I'm disgusted that a radio station would carry such an announcement but I've seen news spots on several local TV stations mention the availability of indian netted fish along the Columbia too. Frankly, I've told people who have asked me about such fish that they might be shopping for fish that rotted in a set net a few days then spent a few more days in the back seat of an old car before being available for sale along the highway. YUCK!!!

Just remember as long as there are people that will buy gill netted fish there will be gill nets. So if we all stop buying these fish the nets will go away. Put your mouth where the money is.
I stopped and took a look at the pickup truck with the fish, I wouldn't have feed these fish to dog.

If you eat fish, catch it yourself. At least then you know where it's been. Or buy farm raised, Atlantic salmon ;;; wild content = 0.

How about purina cat chow, gill net salmon flavor, yummmm!

I would think it will be crowded this weekend at Hood River or Cascade Locks with people buying these fish. I would'nt eat these fish under any circumstance but especially the unsanitary conditions they are kept in.
