17 HMR bug
Well, I think it's bitten me. I've got two 22mags (pistol and rifle) but think I want an addition. What really caught my eye was the performance of the 22 mach2, but the gun I'm looking at is the Taurus Tracker (I'm kinda partial to dual action guns), and I don't think it's available in mach2. Anybody have any experience with the tracker? What kind of ballistics loss can I expect from a 6.5" barrel regarding the 17HMR? Thanks, Tom.

Re: 17 HMR bug
You can expect alot of loss in velocity due to barrel length.
I think Guntest magazine did a review of 17Hummer handguns and, as I recall, were not impressed.
Now if we talk rifles......

Re: 17 HMR bug
After "Rat Hunting" last year, I ordered a CZ American in .17 HMR. What a beauty! I leave this afternoon for the Rat Wars and can't wait to put it through its paces.
(Unfortunately, the weather look awful for this weekend, but I'm going anyhow.) There's always coyotes!

Re: 17 HMR bug
Nice!
I am in the midst of moving on another CZ, either a 527 .223 or a 452 Varmint 22lr.
Does yours have the set trigger?
Hope you enjoy it.
Safe shooting.

Re: 17 HMR bug
Mine is a Model 452 but it does not have a set trigger. It is a good looking rifle with great workmanship apparent throughout. If the darned weather would cooperate, I could give it a workout this weekend. However, I do not think that will be the case!! YUK!

Re: 17 HMR bug
Rusty,
How much did you give for your CZ .17 HMR?

Re: 17 HMR bug
Yea goforchrome, mine has the set trigger, the main reason I wanted it (next to craftsmanship and woodgrain). I guess the new 22's have set triggers also.
Good luck this weekend Rusty, where're you going anyway?
