Default Local Gunsmith?

Hello All,

I am curious if anyone knows of any local gunsmiths that build custom rifles? I know of a couple in the state, but just looking for someone closer to Portland.

Thanks

Tom

The first question would be what kind of gun?

Benchrest Shooting/Target Rifle - Steve Kostanich, Chehalis, WA

Finely crafted hunting rifle - Trez Hensley in Brightwood, OR

For a truly fine custom rifle, look for a member of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild.

Thanks, I am not interested in Allison and Carey, but thanks.

John,
Do you have any contact info for Trez Hensley. I am wanting to have a new barrel put on a 700 action in .260 rem and than either teflon or Ceracote the who thing. I have a Mcmillan stock on the way.

Thanks
Tom

Tom, Have you called Rich's? they are supposed to be pretty good, a bit out of the way but might be worth the drive. I have a name of a couple people up here in Vancouver also if that will work for ya.

I'll vouch for James at Big Iron Gun works. He did the install of the barrel and sights of my .416 Taylor. Very nice work reasonable price and quick turn around.

Trez is a stock maker and engraver, so he might not be the best match for this project.
