Default plunking for fall chinook???

Is it productive to plunk for fall chinook with spin-glo's like in the columbia? Are fall chinook decent biters while in the columbia? How about in a bay or estuary of a costal river?
To me fall fishing time is worth more than gold so i don't want to waste my time trying in vain. My experience with fall kings is that they are very poor biters.
ideas?

Yes, I believe they are p*ss poor biters-so are coho in the rivers (from my experience anyway). They certainly don't bite as good as springers. I've never heard of anyone having good luck plunking spin n' glows for them, but the boaters do well on spinners, etc. Maybe there are better biters in the coastal areas, don't know.

Rob, I know some old fishermen that only use spin-glos for nookies. Try to find some that are mainly white with some red on them. If push comes to pull buy some of the big ones and spraypaint them with a high gloss pearl color and then dab a little blood red on the body of the spin-n-glo.

back when you could do this on the skagit we used metalic red winged bobers with white wings and orange top, throw a little roe on the hooks and sit back and watch. Seen more than a few taken this way. Never fished the columbia but usually if it works in one river it should work in another.

I've seen competent plunkers just slam the fall chinook on k-12 kwikfish, with a much smaller percentage caught on eggs with spin n glow. However, eggs drift fished or on the right river float fished into a hole can just be very productive also.
