Default boat launch on Columbia

My partner wants to fish Columbia near Bonneville next Wednesday, but doesn't know where a good place to launch his 20 ft. boat at. I only know of Chinook landing, which is quite a ways from there and a private one, I think is called the Fishery. Would appreciate any tips. I know the Willamette and the Multnomah Channel but have never fished the Columbia up in the Bonneville are.

Considering the number of boat and the flow of the river I hope your friend is well acquainted with combat fishing in big water. Below Bonneville is a dangerous place on a day when there aren't many boats. With the number of guys that have been fishing there it will be pretty intense and there are lots of folks with little tolerance for learning curves. I don't mean to discourage you from going, but I do hope you're prepared for what you'll find.

Ditto what Pete said. Last week they pulled two guys out of the water after something went wrong and their baot capsized at Bonneville. Best know your stuff and have a backup motor. (troller) However, with the entire mainstream Columbia open on wednesday, I can't force muself to fight that crowd.. Good Luck.

PS I know of a boat ramp at Dodson, but it launches right into the river. I know there is one more that is wider and nicer, but I haven't been there.
